A few home projects

 With everyone spending so much time at home, now is a great time for home decor knits! Three of my recent patterns fit perfectly into that category. Two of them are independent releases and one is in the latest Knit Picks collection.

Cloudy Day Throw

If you're looking for a bigger project, the Cloudy Day Throw could be just the thing. It's part of the Knit Picks collection of modular blankets, Block Party. The garter stitch squares are worked diagonally with half of the small squares being worked first. The rest of the small squares are then joined to the other ones as they are being worked to form twelve larger squares. These are then seamed together and the border is added, joining as it is worked.

Fuzzy Pillow

The Fuzzy Pillow is a quick and easy knit perfect for adding a little something new to your decor. The front is knit in Knit Picks Fable Fur yarn and makes a wonderfully soft faux fur pillow. The back is worked in two pieces with a button band in the middle, a nice decorative and functional feature. All pieces are worked flat and then sewn together.

Mini Houseplant Trio

The Mini Houseplant Trio is a super fun project perfect for brightening up your home or office space. They are designed to fit a 2.5" diameter pot. The pattern includes directions to make an aloe plant, a succulent and a spider plant. The aloe and succulent leaves are worked in the round and sewn together and the spider plant is worked flat in one piece casting on and binding off stitches and using short rows to form the leaves. The finishing directions include step-by-step photos showing how to assemble the plants.

These lovely little plants would also make great gifts.
